Girls Day Out

...Girls’ day out...

Every so often we get the urge to run up to the big city and shop.

Bonnie, Merlene, Rosalie and I piled into Bonnie's SUV (plenty of room for shopping bags) and headed to Topeka.

First stop Dead Lobster for seafood. Being in small-town Kansas, we don't really have a seafood restaurant. We were hoping that when we got the new Target, they'd also put in some new dining choices and they will, but apparently the old Red Lobster is not going to be one of them. Then we stomped the mall. I got tops at Penney's, Bonnie got an outfit for work, Merlene found something to her liking, and Rosalie exchanged some pants.

The main destination for the day was Hobby Lobby. If you are a crafter, this store will give you an orgasm just looking at their ad brochure. I've been there four times now and I STILL have not been down every aisle. I picked up some bits and pieces to put together harvest themed centerpieces for the table. Bonnie got tall glass vases and silk greenery to decorate the high shelves that are built into her new house. Merlene got boxes for a work project and Rosalie bought nothing.

Then we headed over to Wolfe Camera so I could further investigate digital cameras. I'm ready to graduate from the little pen cam I have, but haven't been able to make up my mind what I want. So working from what I want to do with it, I decided on a Fuji FinePix. Bonnie, Merlene and Rosalie lounged in these way-cool recliners they had in the store while I agonized over my purchase.

Final stop, Cracker Barrel for coffee and dessert before heading back home. All in all, I spent far too much money, however I got great value for my dollar and I'm happy. So shut up.
